5 Things I like about Skyfire S60

1. Since it’s beginning, I criticised Skyfire a lot and I must say there are things inside it that really need to be addressed but at the same time, they have some really cool ideas implemented and gives a new horizon on our internet consumption.

2. Skyfire is a proxy based internet browser, same like Opera Mini but instead of using J2ME to program it, the developer uses native language and many things work better inside Skyfire compared to Opera Mini. For example, true Javascript and Ajax function.

3. The latest version of Skyfire is 1.10.13041. Which hosts a lot of improvements and neat functions.

4. Here are 5 things I like about the current Skyfire version :-

- Almost desktop-like internet browsing experience. Almost…

5. Skyfire S60 has come a long way to be this usable but it also has another loooong way to go to be on par with the S60 Browser and even Opera Mobile / Opera Mini.

6. I currently use different web browsers on my E63 and alternate them according to my needs and my moods. I use Opera Mobile the most, then followed by Opera Mini 4.2, after that comes Skyfire. I _RARE_ly use the built-in S60 Web anymore because IMHO, Nokia’s Webkit implementation is just so bad and awful.

7. I like to use Skyfire when I want to access some websites that didnt look right on other browsers. For example, Youtube, and also to test how my blogs looked like on Skyfire.

8. However, I use Skyfire for viewing websites only, reading information, viewing photos and multimedia. But _NOT_ for serius text entry. No… No… No…

9. I will write about my 5 most annoying stuff inside Skyfire S60 in the near future, stuff that they need to work hard to improve (from my user point of view of course).

10. Do you use Skyfire? What do you use it for and do you like it? What is your the things that you liked about Skyfire S60?
